Shota studied at the University of Georgia (UG) in Tbilisi, at the University of Łódź in Poland and at Tomas Bata University in Zlín in the Czech Republic. Studying in three countries gave him something he still uses in his products: an understanding of different cultures, markets and customer behaviour.

As a student he was active in public life. In 2015 he founded the student non-governmental organisation Free Students Society, a social and educational initiative, and in 2018 he was president of the student self-government at Sukhishvili University.
