MobiCom sells its own Tourist package, and its support page says the package can be bought on the MobiCom website as an eSIM or a physical SIM. On 26 September 2026 the page listed three data-only packs: 15 GB for 7 days at 20,000₮ (about $5.80), 25 GB for 15 days at 30,000₮ and 50 GB for 30 days at 60,000₮. To buy, choose a pack, pick eSIM (a list of compatible phones appears) or physical SIM (you enter the number printed on a blank MobiCom SIM), confirm your email with a one-time code and pay by card — the only payment option — after which the eSIM details arrive by email. The validity starts when the pack is activated, and a pack bought online is cancelled if it is not activated within 30 days. The Tourist number cannot make or receive calls except to customer service on 2222, and MobiCom's branch at New Ulaanbaatar International Airport gives arrivals a free SIM with a 1 GB bonus.
AviaeSIM's Mongolia eSIM is the alternative: plans on MobiCom or Skytel, as each plan card shows, paid by card, delivered as a QR code in minutes and installed before the flight.

MobiCom runs 4G LTE across Ulaanbaatar, in the aimag centres such as Darkhan, Erdenet, Khovd and Mörön, at the new Chinggis Khaan international airport and along the paved roads between them; 3G and 2G fill in the towns beyond. On the steppe between settlements and in the Gobi the signal disappears for long stretches on any network, so a trip to the countryside needs offline maps. AviaeSIM's Mongolia eSIMs connect to local networks — the fixed-data plans list MobiCom, the unlimited-data plans Skytel — and each plan card names the network, so check it if MobiCom's footprint matters for your route.
